A graduate of the NYU Music Business Program in 2000, Margo Parks has been working in all aspects of the music industry for the past 10+ years. Her wide range of experience started with internships in publicity at Mammoth Records, assisting manager Lisa Cohen at Wicked Rose Management, and research for THIRTEEN (WNET) Arts & Culture department. After graduation she was working with several companies including as sales rep at HMV when she settled into the position of label manager at MPress Records. At MPress Records Margo helped the New York based singer, songwriter and pianist Rachel Sage set up her label. In 2004 Margo left MPress to pursue other endeavors but was sidetracked back into the industry to work with songwriter Amy Speace and electric blues trio Swamp Cabbage with the roots based management company, Grassy Hill Entertainment. Currently Margo is managing and booking her husband Walter Parks and roots & blues band Swamp Cabbage, producing The A-Town Get Down Festival, an annual event in Savannah, GA in tribute to Alex Townsend, and other business services for creative professionals including bookkeeping, developing Filemaker databases and creating WordPress websites.
